Welcome to the Theosophical Society in Tasmania! The Theosophical Society has two centres in Tasmania which are branches of the international organization, formed in New York in 1875, dedicated to the promotion of brotherhood and to the encouragement of the study of religion, philosophy, and science, so that we may better understand ourselves and our place in the universe. (The Theosophical World-View)   The world headquarters is at Adyar, Madras, India.   The Theosophical Society is spread throughout Australia, having a presence in all States. The Three Objects of the Society are:

To form a nucleus of the universal brotherhood of humanity without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour To encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science To investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in the Human Being
